11/25/2023 EnchantaVaughn Approved Behavior: Client struggled to control his aggressive behaviors today as he self reported he was involved in a verbal altercation with his older female sibling 1xâs with moderate intensity during a 10 minute incident today. Behavior: Client then self reported feeling embarrassed because he felt his sibling got the best of him during the incident. He then reported he admitted to threatening sibling 1xâs with moderate intensity during the 10 minute incident. Intervention: QMHP probed client as to his request for todayâs individual counseling session. QMHP then used active listening as client openly expressed his thoughts and feelings about what caused todayâs incident between he and sibling. QMHP then modeled and taught the âwalk awayâ technique to client as to teach him to walk away from incident and arguments before things get out of hand. Intervention: QMHP then encouraged client to also implement the âthought stoppingâ technique which allows him time to think about his actions as well as the consequences of them before acting negatively and in an aggressive manner. Response: Client seemed receptive to todayâs individual counseling session in which he verbalized understanding of session. Client responded positively to being modeled and taught âwalk awayâ technique. He reported he thought about the technique but didnât use it during todayâs incident. He also thanked QMHP for the slushee from 7-Eleven as well as for teaching him the âthought stoppingâ technique which allows him a chance to think out his actions before acting them out negatively which causes problems for him at that moment and later in the future. Response: Client reported he knows the consequences for his actions but did not think that todayâs incident warranted a negative response from him. He reported he thinks he did the right thing by threatening sibling because she had threatened him first. Client reported he and his siblings often engage in sibling rivalry but it has never lasted as long as it did today. He then reported the incident usually are over within seconds or at least 1 to 2 minutes. Client in the session by saying he would apologize to his siblings if she apologizes to him first.
